The Atlantic District of The Wesleyan Church is the only international
district in the denomination. It encompasses the Canadian provinces of
New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and
Labrador, and the U.S. state of Maine.
On any given weekend, over 9,000 people gather in Atlantic District
Wesleyan churches to worship our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. There
are currently a total of 63 churches. They range in attendance from
the teens to 1,700. Our oldest church, in Woodstock NB, came into
being Nov. 3, 1888, and our youngest church plant, St. John's - Avalon, had its official public launch Sunday, October 19, 2008. We have a rich heritage that spans over 120 years. Still "under sail," Atlantic Wesleyans are taking the Good News of the Gospel to villages,
towns, and cities within our district borders, and beyond. Pastors,
missionaries, educators, administrators, and dedicated lay people
serve in God's Kingdom around the world, yet trace their spiritual
roots back to this district.
I invite you to take a moment to explore our website. You will find
more detailed information on our history, churches, camping programs,
educational institutions, denomination, and other links that will help
you better understand the mission and ministry of The Atlantic
District.
Serving with you,

Rev. David W. LeRoy
Atlantic District Superintendent
